QUEEN STREET CLYDE STREET
CONDOS CIVIC USE TOWNHOMES LIVE/WORK

Maple Street, Vancouver, Robert Ciccozzi Architect

Over the coming months, the guidelines for potential uses of the Queen Street lands are being put together. After the first public meeting, I have heard a lot of concern about how the land that borders the residential community will be used. Many have wondered about developing housing that could bring a diverse mixture of residents and families into the area. What are your thoughts on townhomes or a well-designed condo that is seven stories and set back from the street?

Comments:
These are nice, although the site is in a "transition area" between the downtown and nearby residential neighbourhoods which are 2-3 storey townhouses. I think that the site should be more intensively developed.

I also think that the new structures should either be very modern looking or reflect local styles. I am not really in favour of a Vancouver "urban lite" approach with setbacks.

New townhouses worked nicely along Brunswick St. recently . Townhouses fronting parts of Queen ,Clyde and even Morris would compliment the existing residential tone of the area .They attract people with a vested interest in the neighbourhood .In fact, drive a new street off of Morris and subsect the lot all the way to Spring Garden Road .
And seven story condos may as well be twelve story blots like the northeast corner of Church and Morris .
